From toddlers making their first friends in our NAEYC-accredited child care center to seniors staying active and connected, we ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As we prepare to drop thousands of rubber ducks off the Whittemore Bridge this year, we rely on our neighbors to help us bridge the gap, ensuring cost is never a barrier to a healthier, happier life in The Borough.
Child Care & Early Education: Serving the working families of Greyhound Nation with a state-licensed child care center for infants through preschoolers, giving children the healthiest possible start.
Race 4 Chase Youth Triathlon: Partnering with the CMAK Foundation to provide a completely free, six-week summer training camp that teaches local kids (ages 6-12) swimming, biking, running, and the fundamentals of good nutrition.
Membership For All: Utilizing a dedicated financial assistance program to ensure that no resident of Naugatuck, Beacon Falls, or Oxford is ever turned away from life-saving swim lessons, summer camps, or wellness programs due to an inability to pay.
Expanding Community Horizons: Actively growing our local footprint by expanding childcare services into the St. Francis building and constructing a dedicated Teen Center to provide safe, enriching spaces for our older youth.

Dive into the quacktastic world of Duck Day, an extraordinary event that has been making a splash since its creation in 2005 by the Naugatuck Chamber. The main event of the day is the Great Duck Day Race. Imagine over 20,000 rubber ducks joyously racing down the Naugatuck River, each one vying to be among the first 20 to cross the finish line and claim fabulous prizes. With the top prize of $5,000 awaiting one lucky ticket holder, the excitement is simply ducky!
But Duck Day is more than just a race; it’s a delightful festival that brings the heart of downtown Naugatuck to life! Maple and Water Streets are transformed into a vibrant wonderland where food and craft vendors tempt your taste buds, live music sets your feet tapping, and games and activities keep the kids giggling with joy. The festivities also offer a fantastic opportunity for businesses to showcase their products and services to the enthusiastic crowd of over 5,000 attendees.
Beyond the fun and frolic, Duck Day carries a heartwarming mission to support the local community. Over the previous decades, this feather-filled celebration has helped more than 375 organizations raise nearly half a million dollars through the Duck Race fundraising activities.
