In the journey to overcome dyslexia, every child deserves a guide, and since 2002, the Children’s Dyslexia Centers Inc. has been that beacon of hope for many families across Connecticut. With our roots in Waterbury and branches reaching out to Bridgeport and Farmington, we’ve dedicated ourselves to transforming the lives of children with dyslexia through our multisensory structured language education approach, grounded in the Orton-Gillingham method.
Our methodology is not just about teaching children how to read; it’s about unlocking their full potential. By engaging multiple senses, we create a learning environment that allows children to connect with language in a way that traditional methods might not facilitate. This tailored approach has opened new worlds for countless students, enabling them to excel academically and personally.
Thanks to the generous support of the Scottish Rite Fraternity of Connecticut, private donors, and dedicated volunteers, we offer our transformative tutoring services free of charge. This commitment to accessibility ensures that financial constraints never stand in the way of a child’s ability to learn and grow. Our adult training programs also prepare a new generation of educators skilled in our specialized methodology, further expanding our impact.
The success of the Children’s Dyslexia Centers of CT is a testament to the power of community. From our volunteers to our donors, every contribution helps to support, educate, and empower children with dyslexia, providing them with the tools they need to navigate the challenges of dyslexia confidently.

In the spirit of brotherhood and the open road, the Red Knights Motorcycle Club has carved a path of unity and service since its inception in 1982. What started as a casual conversation among firefighters at Randy’s Cycle Shop in Boylston, Massachusetts, has ignited into an international fellowship of over 9,000 members across 300 chapters, including four vibrant chapters in Connecticut. Drawing inspiration from the camaraderie of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, the Red Knights were born from the desire to create a similar bond among those in the firefighting community.
The Red Knights Motorcycle Club is more than just a group of motorcycle enthusiasts. It is a testament to the unbreakable bond shared by firefighters. Each ride and gathering is a celebration of the bravery, dedication, and spirit of service that defines every firefighter. Through their presence, the Red Knights promote a positive image of motorcycling, demonstrating the values of camaraderie, community service, and mutual respect.
Since that pivotal meeting in Northboro Fire Headquarters, the Red Knights have grown beyond their wildest dreams, reaching firefighters worldwide. The club’s annual conventions, starting from their first in Boylston, MA, have become landmarks of fellowship, attracting members from across the globe to ride, share stories, and strengthen their bonds.
The story of the Red Knights is a beacon for firefighters everywhere, encouraging them to come together, celebrate their passion for motorcycling, and support each other both on and off the road. Each chapter, including those in Enfield, Seymour, Plantsville, and Pomfret Center, Connecticut, contributes to this legacy, fostering a community that extends far beyond local boundaries.
Now, we invite you to be part of this incredible journey of camaraderie and service. The Duck Day Race offers an exciting opportunity to support the Red Knights Motorcycle Club and, by extension, the firefighter community. By participating in the Duck Day Race, you’re not just aiming for victory; you’re helping to fuel the spirit of brotherhood that drives the Red Knights forward.
Every duck you race is a tribute to the bravery, commitment, and unity of firefighters worldwide. Let’s rally together for the Red Knights on Duck Day, supporting their mission to unite firefighters through the joy of motorcycling while promoting positive values in our communities.
