Since its inception in 2005, Duck Day has grown from a charming community event into one of the largest and most beloved duck race festivals in the world. This year, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Duck Day, reflecting on two decades of quack-tastic fun and community spirit.
Every first Sunday in June, over 5,000 attendees gather along the banks of the Naugatuck River to witness the spectacle of thousands of rubber ducks racing toward victory. The event has become a cornerstone of local tradition, bringing together people of all ages for a day packed with excitement and joy.
Duck Day began as a modest fundraiser to support local causes. Over the years, it has transformed into a major event that not only entertains but also makes a significant impact. To date, Duck Day has supported over 350 nonprofit organizations and raised nearly half a million dollars to benefit our community. The festival embodies the spirit of giving back, with each duck race pushing our cumulative contribution even higher.
As we mark this 20th Duck Day, the festival offers an array of activities that cater to everyone. Starting at 11 am, the air fills with live music, setting a festive mood. Attendees can indulge in delicious local cuisine, discover unique artisan crafts, and enjoy dynamic street performances. The highlight of the day—the grand Duck Race at 2 pm—remains a thrilling draw, as participants cheer on their sponsored ducks in hopes of winning fantastic prizes.

No Initial Fees: There are no charges for applying. Billing details and participation fees will only be discussed and applied upon acceptance into DuckDay 2025.
